DFG: Grants for the Disabled

If you or someone living in your property is disabled you may qualify for a grant towards the cost of providing adaptations and facilities to enable the disabled person to continue to live there or improve their independence. Grants are means tested to target the funding to those who need the most financial help. The types of works covered by the grant are:

  • Ramping and widening doorways
  • Stair-lifts and level access showers
  • Adaptations to provide bathroom facilities
  • Adaptations to kitchens

The needs of the disabled person will have to be assessed so your first enquiry should be to the Social Services Team on 01628 683744

For more information on how the DFG process works please read the documents listed at the bottom of this page.
