Health & Safety - Training Courses

The Health & Safety at Work basic training course is designed for people who have responsibilities that include organisation of health & safety within the company such as supervisors or managers.

The course consists of a series of sections covering the following areas:

  • Introduction - Health & Safety Law
  • Accidents & Ill Health - Prevention of accidents and ill health, Risk Assessments, First Aid at Work, Personal Protective Equipment
  • Workplace Safety - Workplace Health, Safety & Welfare, Work Equipment, Electricity, Fire Prevention
  • Occupational Health - Hazardous Substances, Ergonomics & Workstation Design, Manual Handling, Noise.

The course is followed by a multiple choice exam consisting of 30 questions. Candidates are required to answer 20 correctly to pass. Those candidates who achieve this standard will receive a certificate from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
