It is a legal requirement for you to make sure your dog wears an identity tag when out in a public place.
It is an offence to let your dog stray. If a stray dog is caught and we can't trace the owner, we will keep it in boarding kennels for which a fee will be charged + £25 for collection and administration. If your dog is picked up and not claimed within 7 days, you will lose the right to reclaim it, and we will try to re-home it.
If you allow your dog to foul any public place, you can be
liable for a 'Fixed Penalty Notice' (£50) to be
served on you on the spot, which is a fast-track alternative to
prosecution in the Magistrates' Court which carries a
maximum fine of £1000
