Service Request/Complaint Form

Public Protection encourages compliance with relevant health, environmental and safety regulations and where necessary, takes enforcement action. In addition, the service also provides education, advice and guidance to the wider community.

Public Protection has responsibility for the following core services:

  • Food Safety e.g. food complaints and food premises inspections.
  • Control of Infectious Disease e.g. food poisoning.
  • Occupational Health and Safety. e.g. accidents.
  • Environmental Protection e.g. noise, bonfires and air pollution.
  • Private Sector Housing e.g. unfit properties.
  • Pest Control Services e.g. wasps and rats.(via a Contractor)
  • Animal Welfare e.g. dog fouling.(via a Contractor)

The service deals with approximately 9000 service requests each year.

The service achieved the coveted Charter Mark Award in 1994, 1997, 2000 and 2005 for service excellence. It has also achieved Quality Assurance Accreditation under BS ISO 9002.
