Commercial Services
The Commercial Services Team is responsible for Food Safety, Health & Safety, Infectious Diseases (Food Borne), Private Water Sampling and Animal Welfare Licensing in over 3000 premises within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. The team's specialised officers carry out the following activities:
- Programmed health and safety inspections of workplaces, food hygiene inspections of food premises and butchers shops
- Investigate food hygiene and health and safety complaints
- Offer advice on food hygiene and health and safety training
- Register food premises
- Respond to Food Hazard Warnings
- Investigate notifications of infectious disease and food poisoning, to identify the source and prevent spread
Investigate accident notifications
- Register skin piercing activities, hairdressers, barbers and cooling towers
- Monitor food and private water supply drinking water quality
- Inspect and licence horse riding establishments, dog breeders, animal boarding establishments, pet shops, performing animals and dangerous wild animals
- Health and safety and food hygiene promotional work
They are here to ensure that visitors and residents to the Royal Borough remain safe, by educating, advising and where necessary carrying out enforcement action to ensure that current legislation is complied with.
