Teenage Pregnancy in School

Teenage school-girls are educated within their mainstream school. They receive the same entitlement to the full curriculum as any other pupil. If a school feels that the young person should not be in school there has to be a good reason.

If a girl feels that she cannot attend school, e.g. because she is unwell or suffering from anxiety, then she has to produce a letter from the medical practitioner. A referral is then made by the mainstream school to Specialist Inclusion Services at the Local Authority for home tuition.
