Thank you for everything you have done for us, X would not be where he is now without you.
X is very happy and integrated in his mainstream school thanks to the support he receives from the staff and equipment of the SCS. They enable him to go to the same local school as his friends, fellow cubs and siblings, which has greatly facilitated his social development and confidence.
You have really done so much to help X's confidence and self-esteem; we can't thank you enough.
Thank you for all the work you have done with X so far. Everyone has noticed a big improvement in her eye movements. We find that she can move her eyes quicker to look at things and she seems to be taking a lot more in.
The input from the Teacher for the Deaf has been invaluable in providing expert advice and support for all aspects of life as a hearing impaired child including practical help with equipment, liaison with the school and emotional support for X during difficult times.
The Teacher of the Deaf has been able to address my child's needs at school offering support both to us and the school. My husband enjoyed the Dads Workshop and doesn't have to ask me every time X needs help with her aids!
The Hearing Impaired Pre-School Group is a friendly group for parents and children to meet up. The children have lots of fun with stories, games, songs and crafts and while they're having fun they're learning to listen. It's the only time in my week when I can finish a cup of coffee!
The Pre-School Groups have been invaluable, suggesting ways to help our children and offer a chance to meet other parents in similar circumstances, as well as the children enjoying them.
The Dads and Grandads Workshop brings working dads up to date with understanding hearing loss, the latest developments in technology and an opportunity to ask the professionals about your child's situation.
Just a note to let you know that we very much appreciate the support provided by the Sensory Consortium Service in helping X to learn, play and communicate effectively. The home visits from his Teacher of the Deaf are invaluable in giving me support, encouragement and advice with strategies to help him. His listening, signing and even talking skills are now coming along in leaps and bounds as a result. Both he and I enjoy coming to the Pre-School Group sessions with its mix of play and creative activities, and a chance to share experiences with other parents too. My husband and I have also learnt a lot from the workshops which we both found very relevant and very well led.
