WAMIE - Windsor Ascot Maidenhead Intranet for Education

The WAMIE System provides Teaching and Learning resources for RBWM educational users, within and outside of school. Logins are available to all staff and pupils at RBWM Maintained schools. Usernames and passwords are provided via the school the staff member works at and the school the pupil attends.

The core of the system is delivered using FirstClass® software; this provides facilities such as e-mail, chat and discussion forums, personal work areas, areas for pupils to load work for teachers, and personal websites. This system is accessible from any location that has internet access.

In line with school policies that protect pupils from other dangers, there is a requirement to provide pupils with as safe an environment as possible and a need for all users to be aware of possible risks and respond and behave responsibly when using WAMIE.

All data held on the RBWM FirstClass® system, and any communication between users on this FirstClass® system is encrypted. The first time that a user logs in to the system, a request will be made for the user to accept the Wamie Responsible Use Policy.
