SACRE

Image of hands prayingThe 'Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education' (SACRE) for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is responsible for the Locally Agreed Syllabus and takes a keen interest in all aspects of Religious Education in the LEA's schools. It includes representatives of all of the major faiths as well as representatives from teachers' unions and elected members of the council.

The SACRE:

  • receives reports from Ofsted inspections
  • keeps in touch with developments in schools
  • makes representations to Ofsted as appropriate
  • is a member of the National Association of SACREs (NASACRE)
  • co-operates and meets with members of other SACREs in the area which was formerly Berkshire.
