Our values
All members of the Educational Psychology Service:
- respect children, parents and colleagues
- work to high professional standards
- work towards equitable provision
- are objective
EPs work with children with a diverse range of needs. We believe that working with children earlier can prevent concerns becoming significant.
What an Educational Psychologist does not do:
- We do not provide reports that parents do not see.
- We do not work with children without parental agreement.
- We do not usually work with children outside the relevant context.
- We do not assume that only the child has to change.
- We do not prescribe medicines or diagnose.
- We do not make decisions about which school a child should attend.
