Our values

All members of the Educational Psychology Service:
  • respect children, parents and colleagues
  • work to high professional standards
  • work towards equitable provision
  • are objective

EPs work with children with a diverse range of needs. We believe that working with children earlier can prevent concerns becoming significant.

What an Educational Psychologist does not do:

  • We do not provide reports that parents do not see.
  • We do not work with children without parental agreement.
  • We do not usually work with children outside the relevant context.
  • We do not assume that only the child has to change.
  • We do not prescribe medicines or diagnose.
  • We do not make decisions about which school a child should attend.
