Primary School Admissions

Starting School in the Royal Borough

Children can start full-time at school from the September following their 4th birthday. You should apply for a place through your home local authority by the national closing date of 15 January in the academic year your child turns 4. If 15 January falls on a weekend then the closing date will be the following Monday.

You can submit your application online between 1 November and the national closing date by clicking here. Paper application forms are available on request by calling 01628 683870.

During the autumn of the academic year in which a child turns 4 we will send registered parents a reminder to make an application. If your child currently attends an RBWM maintained nursery then you should automatically receive this without the need for registering your details If you do not attend an RBWM maintained nursery provision, then you will need to register your details here. You should only register if your child has already turned 3 years of age.

If you are not a resident of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead you will need to apply through your home local authority. You will still be able to apply for RBWM schools via your home Authority.

Full guidance relating to the admissions process can be found in the 'Primary Admissions Guide' below.
