Applying for Reception at Oldfield Primary School for September 2012
There is a proposal to increase the number of places in Reception at Oldfield Primary School for next September. More details can be found on the following news item. For a small number of residents living in or close to the Oldfield designated area this may have an effect on your decision as to which three schools to list as your preferences. A letter is being sent to all parents of children born between 1st September 2007 and the 31st August 2008 on the Borough's admissions database with further information. Schools in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead
There are 6 different types of school in the Royal Borough; Infant, First, Primary, Middle, Secondary, and Upper. Depending on where you live in the Borough, you will attend a particular system of schooling. These are set out below.
Windsor - Three Tier System
First School - 4-9 years of age.
Middle School - 9-13 years of age.
Upper School - 13-16 years of age, and beyond if attending Sixth Form.
Maidenhead, Ascot, Wraysbury and Datchet - Two Tier System
Primary School - 4-11 years of age. The primary school phase can also be spent from age 4-7 in an infant school, with a transfer to junior school until the age of 11.
Secondary School - Age 11 upwards.
