Welcome to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Admissions area. Here you can find information regarding admissions for compulsory school age children to all schools within the Royal Borough.

Schools in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead are organised in two different systems:


Windsor - Three Tier System

1. First school (5-9 years of age)
2. Middle school (9-13 years of age)
3. Upper school (13-16 years of age, and beyond if attending Sixth Form)

The rest of the Royal Borough - Two Tier System (including Maidenhead, Ascot, Wraysbury and Datchet)

1. Primary school (5-11 years of age). The primary school phase can also be spent from age 5-7 in an infant school, with a transfer to junior school until the age of 11.
2. Secondary school (age 11 upwards) - all our secondary schools currently have a Sixth Form.
