The Royal Borough is committed to ensuring that it is in the best possible position to support local residents and businesses through the current period of economic uncertainty, which is being felt in countries across the world.
We live in an area where unemployment is low - well below the average for the south east - and where we have a highly skilled workforce to meet the needs of employers. However, in common with the rest of the United Kingdom we are unlikely to escape the effects of the credit crunch and the council wants to ensure that we offer the best possible support if your circumstances change.
We want to be able to give people easy access to the council services and other organisations that can provide help and guidance, for example in claiming council tax or housing benefit, getting independent advice on legal, family or other issues, job seeking, cutting energy bills, affordable housing, business rate advice and links to business support.
These pages contain a comprehensive range of information, including contact details and web addresses (please see our disclaimer), which we believe you will find informative and very useful.
