"Please could you put a link to the Highways Design Guide on the supplementary Planning guidance page in the Planning Section. Most people considering making a planning application will go to the planning pages first and a link to the new guide would alert them to this new advice." We added the link to the Highways Design Guidance to the Supplementary Planning Guidance webpage It will be easier for people considering making a planning application to be aware of all the guidance available. Can the historical shopfront guidelines be made available on the website?

We have scanned the 'Shopfront and Advertisements Guidelines' and 'Shopfronts and Advertisements in Windsor Town Centre Conservation Area' and made them available on the Supplementary Shopping Areas information page. Please note that the shopfront information is not an adopted Supplementary Planning Document - it is intended to offer advice only.

The guidance is now more accessible and does not require contacting the Council to view the information.

The Landscape Character Assessment is inaccessible and difficult to use because there are lots of downloads and no summary sheet allowing people to locate particular study areas within the borough. We have reduced the number of downloads and improved the naming of them so it is easier to find relevant parts. We have also added a map of the borough as summary sheet, so that the different landscape areas in the borough can be identified before reading the report. Viewing the Landscape Character Assessment on the website will be easier and more accessible. Jan 2011
It was difficult to capture flooding details of alternative sites in the Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) for sequential tests. We have added flood information to the SHLAA tables in the SHLAA 2010 Report The report will be more useful, and save customers the need to phone the Council for the information or to visit to view details of all of the sites. "We would like to see improvements made to Maidenhead Town Centre and the shopping environment"

In the last financial year 5 new trees were planted within Maidenhead Town Centre - 3 directly in the ground along The Colonnade and 2 in the grass verge along Forlease Road. Further improvements to the town centre are being addressed through the production of the Maidenhead Area Action Plan, which is going out for final consultation in October/ November 2010. After the success of the tree planting, this year the plan is to plant further trees directly in the ground in Maidenhead High Street, the locations of which will be determined by the results of the consultation with the shops and position of existing utilities. Other improvements are planned to information panels and way marking, with a future rollout of street furniture following consultation. The wider work on the town centre through the Area Action Plan will occur in the years to come, but more imminently the plan is going to public examination in early 2011 with the intention of adoption in late 2011.
