Methods of Payment

Council Tax Bills are payable by monthly instalments, however, this is conditional upon each instalment being paid by the due date shown on the Council Tax Bill. Failure to do so will result in recovery action being taken. The right to pay by instalments may be withdrawn and the full balance may become payable immediately.

Direct Debit - the easy way to pay your bill

  • Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay.
  • You can choose to pay on the 1st or the 15th of each month.
  • No queuing at payment offices.
  • No cheques to write.
  • No standing orders to renew.
  • A lot safer than cash.
  • It's also cheaper and easier for the Council to administer and thus helps to keep Council Tax bills down.

If you have not paid your Council Tax by Direct Debit in the past, why not start now. Print off a Direct Debit form. Complete the form and return it to the Council Tax Unit, RBWM, Town Hall, St Ives Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 1RF.

Alternatively, contact the Council Tax Unit for a Direct Debit Instruction, by e-mail council.tax@rbwm.gov.uk or telephone 01628 683850.
