The Council values the rich diversity of its local community and the wider community who visit and work in the Royal Borough.
The Comprehensive Equality Policy sets out the Council's corporate commitment to promote equality and prevent discrimination. The policy incorporates the six equality strands of age, disability, gender, race, religion and belief and sexual orientation. It includes the Disability Equality Scheme, Gender Equality Scheme and Race Equality Scheme that are required by law, and reflects the new duties of the Equalities Act 2010.
