Council Inspections

All Councils are subject to regular inspections by central Government departments. These help us to:

  • Recognise and build on our strengths
  • Identify where and how we can improve

In 2009 the Royal Borough and its partners were inspected by the Audit Commission and partner inspectorates. This joint inspection is called a Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA). The organisational assessment part of the CAA, which judges the performance of the Council, is positive, with an overall score of 3 out of 4, meaning that the Council is performing well.

The findings from the inspection, and more details about the process, are available on the One Place website.
