Residents' Survey 2011/12 - Headline Results

Local residents have had their say about how they rate the services provided for them by the Royal Borough.

They took part in the annual residents' survey which showed that

  • 61% are satisfied with the way the Council runs things and
  • 45% agree that the Council provides value for money Individual services

Services with the highest satisfaction rates are once again:

  • refuse collection (89%)
  • doorstep recycling (85%)
  • parks and open spaces (82%).
  • libraries show significant improvement - 75%.

Priorities for improvement are similar to those reported in previous years:

1. Road and pavement repairs - 43%
2. Level of traffic congestion - 39%
3. Shopping facilities - 28%
4. Level of Crime - 25%
5.= Activities for teenagers - 24%
5.= Public transport - 24% (23%)

The survey results are now being taken on board across the Council and will be used to help improve services for residents in the future.

This report summarises the results of the 2010 Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Residents' Survey, conducted amongst 1,191 local residents, via a self-completion postal survey carried out between November 2010 and January 2011.
