What should I check for when looking for childcare?
First of all, ask to see the OFSTED registration certificate
- Credentials of the leader/childminder
- Child/adult (qualified/unqualified staff) ratio (Add "In Daycare settings" before the ratio bullet point:)
- Staff with First aid qualifications
- Good Record keeping
- Clear communication with parents
- General cleanliness
- Facilities - sleeping area, outdoor play, visits and outings.
- Toys and equipment
- Daily structure, meals
