- Matches are played in a standard league format (3 points for a win,
1 for a draw).
- The cost per team is £360.00.
- Matches are held one evening per week for 14 consecutive weeks
beginning on tbc.
- Each team has a match every week. A match will be 20 minutes each
way.
- Fixtures are scheduled within a 3-hour time slot (7pm-10pm) on a
Wednesday evening; during this period players must be available at all
times.
League Rules
- Squads of up to nine players are allowed with unlimited
substitutions throughout the game, including the goalkeeper if
necessary.
- Fixture dates should be kept to, wherever possible, and the
organisers reserve the right to penalise any team that does not
complete their fixtures at the allotted times. Any team having
difficulty in fulfilling a particular fixture MUST
contact Charters Leisure Centre
as soon as possible, so that a decision can be made with regard to the
awarding of points. Games that are not being played with good reason or
that have not been reported, within the allowed timescale will result
in the points being awarded to the other team with a 3-0
scoreline.
- Any team more than two fixtures behind without good reason or
notification will be removed from the league.
- The league is run on a friendly but competitive basis with
qualified referees. All we ask is that you are honest and play fair
according to the rules.
- The organisers' decision is final at all times relating to all
matters concerning the SSS 6-A-Side Football League.
Match Rules
- The ball should be in play at all times from the start of the game.
All free kicks will be direct.
- A player receiving the ball from his own goalkeeper's underarm
throw may not return it to the goalkeeper, and if he should do so this
will result in a direct free kick two metres from the edge of the
penalty area. However should the ball touch a player on the same side
or an opposing player it can then be returned to the goalkeeper.
- At a free kick situation all opposing players shall be at least two
metres from the ball until it is in play. And all free kicks except
penalties given against the defending side for infringements committed
in or near the goal area shall be taken from a distance of not less
than two metres outside the goal area at the nearest point to where the
offence occurred.
- If a goalkeeper leaves the goal area then a direct free kick will
be given against him, two metres from the point of exit.
- An attacker who enters the goal area will be penalised by the award
of a direct free kick at the point of entry, but a defender who enters
the goal area will be penalised by the award of a penalty kick.
(Discretion must be used here to distinguish between accidental and
intentional entry). Keepers must roll the ball out underarm and they
are not allowed to kick or throw overarm. If an infringement
occurs a direct free kick will be given to the opposing team two metres
from the edge of the area.
- Sliding tackles are not allowed. There is no strict caution for
this but all dangerous tackles will be penalised.
- All players must wear shin pads. The referee may prevent a player
from playing if he does not comply. This is for player safety.
- No studs/blades allowed on the astroturf.
