Business Rates: Frequently Asked Questions
When must I pay my rate bill?
The monthly instalment is normally due on the 1st of each
month, and if it is not received within 2 weeks, a reminder
will be issued. Please remember the Royal Borough is only
acting as an agent of the Government, collecting the income on
its behalf, and passing it straight on. The Government will
re-distribute the total of all Business Rate income to each
Council on the basis of the needs of the area as a whole.
