Braywick Park is a great place for pupils to visit and learn about different habitats such as woodland, grassland or pond. A Habitat Studies session gives your class the opportunity to explore one habitat (half day session) or up to three habitats (full day session) in Braywick Park, investigating the plants and animals found there.
As well as covering plant and animal identification and classification, pupils will be introduced to fieldwork sampling techniques, and the importance of protecting habitats and the wildlife that lives in them. Topics such as adaptation, life cycles, interdependence, food chains and food webs can also be covered.

Comments from Schools:
"As always a great afternoon - you cannot beat a 'hands-on' experience like this to learn about creatures and their habitats"
"We really enjoyed the day... The children really benefited from the opportunity to work outside the classroom with specialist equipment and expertise"
"I really, really enjoyed it. It was really interesting to learn about woodland things... The part where we got to look under logs to find bugs and minibeasts was great. I was talking to my Mum for about 2 hours when we got home!"
