Braywick Nature Centre Events

We run a range of events and activities at the Nature Centre and at open spaces, nature reserves and other venues across the Borough. These range from nature walks to holiday activities for children.

Maidenhead Area

A Guided Winter Nature Walk!

Venue: Braywick Nature Reserve, Braywick Park, Maidenhead
Date: Saturday 6th March
Time: 10am - 12 noon
Cost: Donations

Join the Rangers for a winter exploration of this beautiful local nature reserve. Bring binoculars if you have them.

Trails may be muddy and unsuitable for pushchairs. Dogs must be on a lead. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Ockwells Park Tree Planting!

Venue: Ockwells Park, Maidenhead
Date: Sunday 7th March
Time: 10.30am - 1pm

Families and individuals are invited to join the countryside rangers and tree wardens in planting young native trees to benefit wildlife at Ockwells Park (Grid red: SU 879 791)

Please bring along a spade if you have one and wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Earth! - A National Science & Engineering Week Event

Venue: Braywick Nature Centre, Maidenhead
Date: Saturday 13th March
Time: 2pm - 4pm
Cost: Donations

The earth or soil beneath our feet is essential for our survival. Join the Rangers for a fun session looking at how earth is made and using microscopes to discover what astonishing life forms may be living in it!

Also make a wormery to take home - please bring an empty 2 litre fizzy drink bottle to this event.

Test your knowledge on UK wildlife by taking part in the Rangers' annual wildlife quiz trail. Follow the map, find the clues and puzzle out the answers - then a chocolate reward will be yours!

Consent forms for children's events must be completed prior to event.
Unless otherwise stated events at the nature centre are unsuitable for children under 6 years
No refunds will be made for cancellations less than 48hrs prior to the start of the event, where payment is for less than £10 and unless the place(s) are resold. All refunds are subject to a £5 administration charge.
