Benefits - Landlords Frequently Asked Questions

Housing Benefit is a means tested benefit and therefore the customer's income, capital and household circumstances are all taken into account, when the claim is assessed. The amount of benefit a customer is entitled to, is calculated by comparing the amount the government says this person/ family needs to live on (applicable amount) with the amount of weekly income they have. In most cases the more income the customer has the less benefit they will receive.
