Not if the conservatory is built at ground level, is not more than 30m² in floor area, it has 50% of the walls and 75% of the roof constructed of clear or translucent materials, includes safety glazing, is unheated and separated from the existing dwelling by an external quality door.
You should also ensure that the conservatory is not built where it will restrict ladder access to windows serving a room in the roof or loft conversion as this will be required as a means of escape route or for facilitating rescue.
A Customer Guide is available on our Customer Guides web page. Any fixed electrical installation should also comply with the requirements of Part P for Electrical Safety.
