Key Performance Indicators for the Internal Audit Service

There are no National Best Value Performance Indicators set for the Internal Audit function. Instead, a range of local performance indicators have been established to monitor performance.

Local Performance Indicators

  • Quality of Service
    • Receive a favourable assessment of the work of Internal Audit in the Annual and Interim External Audit Management Letters.
    • % audits completed to user 's satisfaction.
    • All complaints dealt with within timescale and measurable improvements to the Service provided, where appropriate.
  • Productivity
    • Number of Audit Days provided compared to Planned Days as expressed as % time spent on productive audit work - target 100%
    • Sickness absence kept to below National level.
  • Cost
    • Service delivered within the budget for the year.
  • Audits and Recommendations
    • Target of 95 % of recommendations agreed.
