Measuring Online Plans

Many of you have told us that in addition to being able to view plans online that you would like to be able to take measurements and make annotations to plans for the purpose of sending us comments and feedback. Up till now this has been difficult as many of the plans sent in by developers do not allow the use of the measuring tools provided in the the standard Adobe PDF Viewer. We have now found that there is an alternative free product called PDF Xchange Viewer produced by Tracker Software Products Ltd that gets around these issues and makes available a range of tools to support measuring and markup of our online plans.

The viewer can be downloaded from http://pdf-xchange-viewer.en.softonic.com/ and we recommend when installing that you do not install the optional toolbar or search engine links, but do select the "Make Default PDF Viewer" and "Run in Browser" options.

We also suggest that once the software is installed you go to the Edit Menu, click Preferences, then select the Registration tab and tick the box marked "Hide restricted PRO functions in Free Viewer version."
