Free adult numeracy courses to help residents in Royal Borough improve their maths skills and unlock opportunities are now open for enrolment.
Multiply is delivering the Government-funded courses for residents in Bracknell Forest, Reading, the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, West Berkshire and Wokingham.
These latest sessions start next month following the range of courses that were on offer last year. They are open to people aged 19 and over who do not have GCSE maths at grade C, or the equivalent, or need to brush up on their maths skills for work or with household budgeting.
Designed to help with everyday activities like shopping and cost of living issues, these sessions can help improve specific skills, like money management, helping children with homework or improving maths skills for work. This can help residents improve their job prospects, make more of their money and support their children’s learning.
Multiply offers accessible and relevant courses, friendly tutors, and a range of options to provide a positive and rewarding experience. Residents can choose from locally-based one-off courses, to multiple sessions in-person or online.
Councillor Simon Werner, the Leader of the Council and Cabinet member for community partnerships, public protection and Maidenhead, said: “These courses provide our residents with clear, professional and easily accessible support to help them improve their maths skills and gain confidence in using numbers in day-to-day situations. Multiply provides maths courses tailored to everyday skills, from spreadsheets to cooking, finance workshops and studying for a qualification, improving practical skills for work and at home.”
