Fit for Life Volunteering Opportunities


There are lots of exciting opportunities to volunteer on the Fit for Life Programme. You don't need to be sporty to get involved; typical volunteer roles require enthusiastic, friendly and motivating individuals who possess a range of skills in areas including communication, leadership and organisation.

Benefits of volunteering on the Fit for Life Programme include:

- Access to free training opportunities, including; First Aid, Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People, First Steps into Coaching.

- Experience in coaching and working in different environments
- Having the opportunity to learn from and be mentored by qualified coaches

parkrun volunteer opportunities

parkrun volunteer are needed to sustain a popular weekly sporting event in Maidenhead. parkrun is a series of five kilometre timed runs which are staged every Saturday morning at 9am in public parks around the world.They are held in more than 240 locations across the UK.

The events attract beginners, fun runners and top class athletes, and are organised entirely by volunteers.

There are no entry fees. Runners register online and receive a barcode which they must print and carry. At the end of the run, the barcode, and the runner's finishing number, are keyed into a computer to produce detailed results in a short time.

Running Leaders Wanted

If you enjoy running, and live or work in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and would be interested in putting together your own running group, we want to hear from you!

As part of the new Fit for Life Programme, we are looking for local leaders to put forward to complete an England Athletics Leadership in Running Fitness 1 day qualification to give them the confidence, knowledge and ideas to do just that.

Walk Leaders Wanted

If you enjoy walking, and live or work in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and would be interested in putting together your own walking group, we want to hear from you!

As part of the new Fit for Life Programme, we are looking for local leaders to put forward to complete a walking for health course to give them the confidence, knowledge and ideas to do just that.
