Welcome
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) is committed to 'developing a Culture of Learning for Sustainability' (LfS). Learning to make a success of life on Earth, together, is what this is all about! There is much good work aready going on. This website attempts to draw this work together so that we might better learn from one another as we seek to create a sustainable future for all.
How to use this website
The website is divided into five main sections. You are currently in the 'Home' section. By following the 'RBWM Sustainability' link to the left you can find background information on Sustainable Development, Council sustainability initiatives and a listing of LfS Partners.
The remaining four sections have the headings of 'Business', 'Community', 'Education' and 'Young People'. Each of these sections will be subdivided into a series of sustainability themes and within each theme you will be able find links to relevant local and national information (and in the future, case studies of actions that are being taken, training opportunities and learning resources). At the present time, only the 'Education' section is available in this format. Please refer to each section for further details.
A work in progress
Just as our understanding of sustainability needs to develop and grow, so will this website. The Council does not have all the answers. We will only achieve a sustainable future by working and learning together.
At the present time only the 'Education' section is available. If you are involved in the education sector in some way, please do submit useful links and potential case studies via this email (it will not be possible to reply to all emails but where appropriate, links and case studies will be added) EcoLfS@rbwm.gov.uk.
The sections addressing the remaining sectors will be developed in the coming months. If you would like to be contacted as these become available, please let us know via the above email address, indicating the sector you are interested in.
