Royal County of Berkshire Pension Fund Wins LGC Investment Award

Pedro Pardo, Investments Manager receives the award for Best Return on Property on behalf of the Royal County of Berkshire Pension Fund at the LGC Investment Awards 2011

The Royal County of Berkshire Pension Fund picked up the prize for "Best Return on Property" at last night's LGC Investment Awards, held at The Grange St Paul's, London.

The best local authority finance teams were recognised with a coveted LGC Investment Award at the prestigious gala dinner at The Grange St Paul's, London, on Wednesday 7 December 2011.
The night brought together the key industry players to reward and recognise the most innovative initiatives and deserving individuals in the local authority pensions and investment sector.

Engaged Investor Trustee Awards 2011 - Winner of the Highly Commended Award for Team Excellence in Administration Category

We are delighted to announce that The Royal County of Berkshire Pension Fund Administration Team received the Highly Commended Award for Team Excellence in Administration.

The awards were held at an awards luncheon on 6th July at the Waldorf Hilton, London and celebrate the work and achievements of pension schemes over the past year.

Engaged Investor Trustee Awards 2010 - Winner of Best Investment Strategy

We are delighted to announce that The Royal County of Berkshire Pension Fund won the Best Investment Strategy Award at the Engaged Investor Trustee Awards 2010. The award was accepted by Kevin Taylor, Pensions Administration Manager on behalf of the Berkshire Pensions Fund Investments team. The award ceremony was held on Wednesday 7th July 2010. These awards were open to all UK-based occupational pension schemes and aims to recognise the schemes that have made a significant difference to the performance of their Fund.



IPE European Pension Fund Awards Success for Berkshire Pensions

We are delighted to announce that at the ninth annual IPE European Pension Fund Awards held in Dublin on November 18, that the Royal Country of Berkshire Pension Fund won the IPE Themed Award for Best Pension Fund investing in Commodities.

The fund's submission for this IPE Themed Award was selected by a panel of independent judges, appointed by Investment & Pensions Europe. Please click here to view the full press release.

In addition the Fund was also runner up in the following categories:

- Best UK Fund (won By Barnardo Staff Fund)

- Best Public Pension Fund (won by the Danish State Fund ATP)

The IPE awards are open to Pension Funds across Europe and the Berkshire Pension Scheme were one of only 4 English funds to win an award.

Professional Pensions - Pension Scheme of the Year Awards 2009

We are pleased to announce that the Berkshire Pension Fund was nominated, out a large number of entries. in the following categories at the Pension Scheme of the Year Awards 2009. These awards were held at St Pauls Hotel, London on 17th September 2009.

• Best Website Design - Public
• Best DB Communications - Public
• Best use of Specialist Investment Manager
• Best Promotion of AVCs


The awards aim to recognise schemes that show the highest level of service to members and although the fund did not win any of these awards this year, it is a testament to the progress being made by the team that they were shortlisted in so many categories.

Professional Pensions - Pension Scheme of the Year Awards 2008

The award recognises the new communications strategy which the Fund introduced earlier in the year, which included the launch of this brand new website for members of the Berkshire Pension Fund and a complete overhaul of our scheme literature to coincide with the new-look Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations which took effect on 1st April 2008.

The Royal County of Berkshire Pension Fund were nominated in three categories at the FT Pensions and Investment UK Scheme Communications Awards 2008 which were held on Friday 5th December 2008 at the Cumberland Hotel, London. These awards were held to recognise the crucial role of communications in the efficient running of occupational pension schemes.
